Family Workshops

We run family activities during school holidays to promote the enjoyment of looking and talking about art together.

Our sessions are most suitable for families with children aged 5-12. Places are limited, so booking is essential. Please note all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Sculpture Explorers

A Burst of Nature

Wednesday 3 August

10.00-11.30 & 1.30-3.00pm

Join us to explore nature through our senses. We will create multi-media floral pictures using burst fruit and other colourful art supplies. We will look at selected sculptures in the park that use nature as their theme to inspire our own responses to trees and flora.

NB Optional: please bring with you a plant, flower or nature based object.

Drawing the Everyday

Wednesday 24 August

10.00-11.30 & 1.30-3.00pm

Focusing on sculptures by Michael Craig Martin we will explore the everyday objects that surround us and have inspired a lifetime’s practice for the artist. Using outlines, objects and our own ideas we will create artworks that transform the everyday into the extra ordinary.

NB Optional: Please bring with you an everyday item from your home.

£5 per child, free for first accompanying adult; additional adults £5

Most suitable for families with children aged 5-12 Booking essential: [email protected] or call 01980862802. After the workshop, you are welcome to explore the rest of the sculpture park independently.
