Alongside our ongoing projects, the Trust recently worked with an artist, two local schools and a film production company to bring more children to Roche Court who otherwise might not have the opportunity to engage with modern and contemporary sculpture.
In May 2022, the Trust collaborated with artist Julieann Worrall Hood to facilitate the ‘Kaleidoscopic Project’ at Roche Court with two state-maintained schools in Bemerton Heath.
Children were invited to explore and experience the sculpture at Roche Court in new and exciting ways by creating their own personalised kaleidoscopes through which they could view the artwork and landscape. The kaleidoscopes opened up a whole new set of possibilities of how to view the world around us! A film documenting the project and the children’s response to the sculpture can be found below.
The project was part of the Trust’s ‘Inclusive Jubilee’ and was generously funded by Persimmon Homes, Wiltshire Community Foundation and Arts Council England’s ‘Let’s Create’ fund.
