Family Workshops: ‘Imagine and Travel’

Thursday 2 June, 10.00-11.30am or 1.30-3.00pm

We will explore work in the sculpture park which links to the Festival’s theme of ‘Islands’ and that which celebrates the rich diversity of the people of Britain. We will make drawings, collage and collective stories before designing our very own creatures and characters from imaginary lands or distant planets or places.

Most suitable for children aged 5-12.

Children £5. First adult free. Additional adult £5. Payment can be made on the day by cash or card.

Walk & Talk

Friday 3rd & 10th June, 3.00-4.00pm

We will explore the Festival theme of ‘Islands’, in discursive adult tours (aged 13+). In particular we will look at our own small island & explore some uneasy narratives presented by the sculpture at Roche Court.

£5 each. Payment can be made on the day by cash or card.

Interactive tours and workshops for schools, colleges and universities.

We will visit and respond to artwork at the Roche Court Sculpture Park and New Art Centre galleries that introduces and explores ideas related to ‘Islands’ and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Our focus will be on LOOKING, THINKING and SPEAKING, using a range of approaches.

Each visit will include an opportunity to take part in a prize to create a piece of art inspired by one of these works which responds to the idea ‘Jubilee’. Win a tour of the park for up to 30 participants (worth £360) for a school or group of your choice! The Competition runs from 30 May – 24 June.

Interactive and Discursive Tour (up to four hours): £6 per student.

Tour and Workshop (up to five hours): £12 per student.
