ARTiculation Prize England 2016

 

In 2016 the ARTiculation Prize was held at nine regional venues. In London quarter-finals were held prior to the London regional heats. A student was selected from each heat to speak at the Finals, with the exception of the London where two speakers were selected to go to the Finals.

The Finals were held at Clare College, University of Cambridge on Friday 11 March and were part of the ARTiculation Conference which included a keynote lecture given by Prof. Richard Clay, tours of the university art collection given by undergraduate students and a University Fair.
Hannah Rothschild, writer, filmmaker and Chair of the Trustees of the National Gallery, adjudicated the ARTiculation Finals in Cambridge. Ten Finalists presented on subjects ranging from The Jewish Museum, Berlin by Daniel Libeskind, Clash of the Titans by Ray Harryhausen and 1934 (relief design) by Ben Nicholson.

Second Place: Isla Waring, The Red Maids School, The Widow 2013 by Marlene Dumas

Third Place: Elli Kypriadis, Manchester High School for Girls, The Jewish Museum, Berlin, 2001 by Daniel Libeskind
